An Australian man that leaped past a barrier and touched Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and banned from Singapore.

The man, 26, was sentenced to nine days in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told local media.

The man shoved beyond security and charged at the celebrity, who was present at the Asian debut for the musical adaptation on 13 November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of causing disturbances at events and celebrity events, including rushing the stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in this summer.

The occurrence caused anger in Singapore, with several individuals saying he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The celebrity has spoken of dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the UK city in spring of 2017 took the lives of over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

During Wen's trial, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Security staff prevented him and held him in place.

He then uploaded video clips expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Authorities took him into custody the next day and accused him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was quoted by media reports as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", adding that he was wrong to believe he would not face any penalties.

Grande has not addressed the situation.

Erivo mentioned the situation to the press, stating that she "simply desired to make sure my colleague was safe."

"I think he had no intention to us injury, but you never know with such situations, and I aimed to make sure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she commented.
